19th December 2025 – (Hong Kong) Police in Yuen Long arrested a husband and wife in the early hours of Friday following a domestic dispute that escalated into violence at a residential estate on Ko Po Path. Officers were called at 4.38am today after a woman reported that she had been assaulted by her husband inside a flat at Crescent Green No. 3 Ko Po Path. Preliminary enquiries indicate the couple — a 34‑year‑old woman surnamed Chan and her 38‑year‑old husband surnamed Hui — argued over relationship issues. Hui is suspected of striking Chan with his hands, while Chan allegedly bit him.
At the scene, police recovered a fruit knife approximately 15 centimetres in length. Hui was arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm. Chan was arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and possession of an offensive weapon.
Hui sustained injuries to his neck and hand, while Chan suffered injuries to her mouth and hand. Both were conscious and taken to Pok Oi Hospital for treatment.
